Food and drink
We really do have an embarrassment of riches when it comes to great food and drink here in the Ribble Valley… here are some of our favourite, plus some recommendations from friends. Do let us know what we missed!
Almost all of these are independent local venues; where we’ve included non-independent options we’ve got a good reason, we promise.
Cafes & coffee shops:
- Jungle, Clitheroe (delicious brunches; think sweet potato, sourdough, avocados & chorizo…)
- Brioche, Clitheroe (down to earth coffee & lunches)
- Cafe Nero, Clitheroe (dog friendly)
- Bowland Food Hall, Clitheroe (coffee & lunches within a fancy food store)
- Emporium, Clitheroe (bistro style food)
- Escape Coffee & Cocktails, Clitheroe (great coffee, and great cocktails too!)
- Shackletons Garden Centre, Chatburn (good straightforward lunches)
- Holden Clough Garden Centre, Bolton by Bowland (newly re-opened Jan 2023, good coffee & we’re looking forward to seeing the full menu – it’ll be good!)
- Starbucks, A59 Services, Barrow (handy for a westbound A59 caffeine boost)
- Puddleducks, Dunsop Bridge (cosy coffee shop for a post walk/cycle boost)
Pubs & restaurants:
- The Higher Buck, Waddington (great pub food)
- Black Bull, Langho (excellent dog friendly pub)
- Tom’s Table, Clitheroe (new in 2022 family run bistro, great reviews)
- Parkers Arms, Newton (highly recommended, book ahead)
- Everyman, Clitheroe (we love their burgers & cocktails, what can we say?)
- Brizola, Clitheroe (a really great Greek bistro)
- Coach & Horses, Bolton by Bowland (another great pub food option)
